Add Your Custom Domain Name

Thank you!

To have gone through the process……

Having your website displayed on your own professional domain name is key to trust and SEO.

Luckily, it only takes a few steps to connect your domain name to your website built with Kidaaga. Follow the simple two steps below to add your custom domain to Kidaaga.

Note: if you find it hard to achieve, you can just open a ticket or contact us via live chat and our support team would be glad to help.

  • Add DNS records to your domain name

The first thing you need to do to get your own domain name connected to your website is to add CNAME records and here is how.

Login to your domain registrar (the company you purchased your domain name from). It could be namecheap, Godaddy, Google …..

Then, go to your domain management page, find the DNS section and add the following records:

Type Host Value TTL
CNAME www Automatic
CNAME @ Automatic

How you can access your domain DNS page varies and depends on your domain registrar. If you don’t know how to do it, simply ask your domain registrar. They will either do it for you or show you how to properly do it.

If you are using namecheap, here is a detailed post on how to add DNS records to your domain.

  • Request custom domain in Kidaaga

After adding CNAME records to your domain, you can now request for the connection here in Kidaaga.

You simply need to login to your main dashboard and click on Custom Domain.

add custom domain

You will be shown the instruction page and a list of your current websites. Next, click the “Request Custom Domain” button.

request custom domain

Finally, select the website, enter the custom domain name (don’t use http, https or www), and click “Send request” button and you are all set.

send domain request

Lastly, If for some reasons your domain is not connected to your website 2-3 hours after your request, you can open a ticket or contact us on live chat for a quick investigation of the case.

Note: DNS records settings from your domain registrar might take up to 24h or 48h to fully propagate (be available to the world wide web). So, be patient.
